About Patrick B. Horsman.
An entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist who believes tuition should never stand between a determined student and a degree.
Patrick B. Horsman is a serial entrepreneur and investor of considerable renown, but his path began in the hedge fund and private equity world. His career is one of passion, innovation, and a steady determination to build.
He graduated from the University of Arizona, Magna Cum Laude, with a triple major in finance, accounting, and entrepreneurship, and went on to earn his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter. Early in his career he joined a boutique broker-dealer and helped build the business by raising several billion dollars from institutional investors. Today he is the Founder and Managing Partner of Octopus Investments, a Puerto Rico-based investment management platform, and remains an active investor across alternatives, real estate, and digital assets.
A philanthropist at heart
With decades of success and a genuine desire to help, Patrick has earned the respect of his peers through vision, dedication, and a real commitment to making a difference in other people's lives. He firmly believes that tuition costs should not stop a talented and deserving student from earning a degree. Through the Patrick Horsman Entrepreneurship Scholarship, he works to lower that barrier for students across the United States.
A passion for education
Patrick is passionate about helping the next generation of business leaders come up through college and their early careers. That conviction is why he founded the grant, and why his wider philanthropy through Patrick Horsman Giving extends to Paradiso College Preparatory, a tuition-free charter school network in Puerto Rico.
When he is not working, Patrick is an avid golfer and spearfisherman, and a proud resident of Puerto Rico, where he lives with his family.
